The FREN Productions Podcast
FREN Productions Podcast: Reed Anderson, PAPA Object
Anderson’s PAPA Object project which presents a body of collage and print-based works on paper that probe the role of art and objects in a world saturated with material goods. Anderson’s process-driven work utilizes scanned images sourced from auction catalogs and magazines, transformed to advert-poster scale paintings that are layered with hand-printed shapes, spray-paint, and brushwork. The resulting compositions animate and re-contextualize the presentation of high low objects that populate contemporary life.
From Anderson’s notes about the project:
“Papa Object was inspired by a childhood of overwhelmingly abundant material culture and redeems talismanic individual objects from their anonymity in a marketplace gone off the rails.”
FREN Productions Podcast: The Philmont Public Library, Library As An Artist Resource.
I sat down with Rain Whittaker, Victoria Brill and Valerie Richmond to talk about The Philmont Public Library as an artist resource. We recorded during FREN Productions special guest curation at their library "From Studio to Home, Home is Where the Art Is", where we asked people to choose an artwork to sell at $60 as a concept to help artworks become accessible to the public and start a conversation between the artists, public and exhibition space on the value and meaning of an artwork. We hope that you learn about the library as a resource, enjoy FREN Productions special curations and art/music productions.
